The book “Globalisation and Cultural Transformations among the Youth: Tertiary Institutions under the Spotlight” addresses an overriding research question “Does globalisation cause cultural transformation among the youth?” To get response to the question, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Bangladesh and the Editors engaged young and established scholars from Bangladesh. The authors reveal the multiplexity of dimensions that globalisation has and the impact of these on the youth. A remarkable feature of the volume is the ‘nearness’ and the ‘lived in’ experiences of the authors and the editors, with the issues of changing nature of universities, critical pedagogy and academic curriculum of higher education, blended learning, social media, migration of higher education, contemporary Bangladeshi films and television dramas, hybridisation of spaces and agencies of social movements, online anti-rape movements, and violent protest in higher education. This book is a collaboration of FES Bangladesh and the Centre for Genocide Studies, University of Dhaka. University Press Limited, a renowned publishing house in Bangladesh, has published it.
